YORKE'S HEROICS HELP LIBERTY SHOCK POINT

A 37-yard field goal by Braden Yorke in the first overtime made a 25-22 winner out of Jackson Liberty on Friday, and in turn handed Point Boro its first loss of the season. In the overtime session, the Lions (4-3) defense forced a three-and-out before Point Boro (7-1) did the same. However, a running into the punter penalty gave Jackson a new set of downs and led to Yorke's game-winning kick. Yorke was difference maker throughout the game, opening the night with a 70-yard catch on Jackson's first play from scrimmage that set up an eventual five-yard touchdown reception for the senior from Ryan Van Wickle. Van Wickle extended the Jackson lead to 13-0 with his second scoring strike of the first quarter, a 45 yard pass to Ryan Downer. Point Boro responded in the second quarter with 16 unanswered points on a pair of Noah Husak runs and a Connor Anbasch field goal, before Yorke knotted the game up at 16-16 with a 30-yard kick of his own. Yorke's second touchdown catch of the night came from 30-yards out and put the Lions up 22-16 after a missed extra point in the fourth quarter. A Hayden Frey touchdown catch for Point Boro sent the game into overtime.
